The Technology Collaborative announces staff and expense reductions;
Remains committed to mission
Pittsburgh, PA – February 11, 2010 – The Board of Directors and Management of The Technology Collaborative (TTC), a statewide economic development organization that supports the growth of Pennsylvania's world-class robotics and digital technologies industries, today reaffirmed their commitment to continue technology commercialization, education and training, recruiting and other programs to support these growing industry clusters. Facing decreased funding for economic development from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the current and future budgets, TTC will be making reductions in staffing and other adjustments to focus as much funding as possible on its most essential programs.
"The Board and management are committed to continuing our programs during these difficult economic times,” said David Ruppersberger, President & CEO of The Technology Collaborative. “The University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, The Pennsylvania State University, along with our member technology companies and our partners in the Foundation community, have all expressed their support for TTC’s mission and programs, and hope that when the funding environment improves, these programs can be strengthened and expanded. It is a critical time for digital and robotics companies in Pennsylvania, and many of our members have continued to hire during this recession - we intend to continue to support this momentum.”
About The Technology Collaborative
The Technology Collaborative (TTC) is a not-for-profit, member-driven, technology-based economic development organization focused on starting, attracting, and growing robotics, cyber-security and digital technology companies. Funding from federal, state, foundation, and member organizations supports our various programs to develop and commercialize technology, subsidize education and training, recruit world-class talent, incubate and mentor early-stage companies, and facilitate networking. TTC works with other regional economic developmentorganizations to implement an end-to-end strategy for transitioning technology from the Commonwealth’s universities into commercial products that are designed, engineered, produced, marketed and sold by companies based in Pennsylvania.
